Vibrant Turquoise Peacock French Dresser Shabby Paris Apartment

Thursday, August 23, 2012

I had so many requests for another Turquoise dresser so here you go. This time I added more white/cream and gold for the accent colors.

The french style dresser reminded me of being in Paris for the summer.

I used a dark wax to make the white accent paint look old and worn.

I lightly distressed the dresser and kept the original hardware.

Ready for the Fall?

Wednesday, August 22, 2012

After experiencing drought conditions this whole summer in Oklahoma. I am ready for the fall to arrive. While on my weekly shopping trip to Kirkland's, I found the following cute items for fall.

Kirkland's Wood Twig Pumpkin, 16.5in. - I love the natural look of the wood twig pumpkins. The fire place would be the  perfect place for the pumpkins.

Natural Harvest Wreath

Kirland's Natural Harvest Wreath - I think I'm going to buy this for my front door.

Shabby Chic Florence Annie Sloan Mix

Wednesday, August 15, 2012

I wanted to try something bold for this buffet so i choose Annie Sloan Florence and custom mixed it. Here is a before of the buffet.

After I painted the buffet,  I decided to make a custom mix of glaze and wax to show of the details on the buffet.

Shabby Chic Black and White Magazine Side Table

Wednesday, August 8, 2012

I have seen a lot of furniture pieces in my day but never a side table like this. The shabby chic accent table would look so cute next to an all white or cream french style chair. I used a bright white for the first coat of paint. The second coat of paint is Behr black. I heavily distressed the side table to give it a warm look.  I love this piece and  was tempted to keep it for myself.

Country Red with Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Emperor's Silk

Monday, August 6, 2012

Red Country chair available for $40

This was a fun weekend project for me. I love Annie Sloan chalk paint  Emperor' Silk color because once you add dark wax the color turns into a deep red.

Makeover Monday... Annie Sloan Graphite Black Chalk Paint

Here is a little inspiration for your Monday. :-)

I am helping one of my family members redo their home. I found this set of chairs at a local goodwill for only $15.00. I fell in love with the detailed woodwork design on the back of the chairs, I think the style is called English Hepplewhite. Since my relative likes dark green, I recovered the chairs in a fabric from the Robert Allen Collection called Les Fauves Scandinavian Modern Floral. You can find the fabric at Hancock Fabrics but I found it online cheaper at loomshowroom.com for only $12.00. The paint color I used is from the Anne Sloan Chalk Paint line called Graphite.

*I painted two coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint Graphite
*Next I used dark wax
*Last Clear wax to protect the finish on the chairs
